+++ Announcement: New show dates for Thailand Lighting Fair +++
Messe Frankfurt has announced the deferment of its popular trio of technology trade fairs for the Thai market due to travel restrictions effecting business travel to the country. Secutech Thailand, Thailand Lighting Fair and Thailand Building Fair, originally scheduled to be held concurrently from 24 – 26 November 2021 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre, will instead take place from 30 November – 2 December 2022 at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangkok, Thailand.
Thailand Lighting Fair is ASEAN’s leading trade fair on lighting technology, design and application. This year, THLF brings a whole new direction on Smart + Energy, segmenting the fair into six main sections: Applications – Digital Living, Technology – Smart Tech, Management – Smart Governance, Energy Source, Power Generation, Energy Management.
In 2018, Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd has acquired Thailand Lighting Fair and Thailand Building Fair to form part of the Light + Building family that totals 14 fairs around the globe. With this move, the fairs can leverage Messe Frankfurt's extensive international experience in growing trade fairs, while at the same time utilise its local organising partners' knowledge to propel themselves forward as ASEAN’s leading trade fairs for lighting and building technology, design and solutions.
The 6th edition of THLF and the 4th edition of THBF will be held concurrently at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand on 30 November to 2 December 2022.
Normally we have more local visitors, but we are looking at overseas visitors in the future. At the fair, we have met visitors from Europe and other places, and we are also extending our line of products from LED to include other technology to target the global market. These visitors are very interested by the products that we offered at the booth.
Panasonic has over 40 years of history in Thailand, and we have started with upper-end products then expended our solutions in Thailand. Currently we have 21 companies and 11 factories in Thailand. Right now Thailand is going into IoT and smart city. Most of the local customers are looking for new technologies to bring the smart technology into their homes and projects. We decided to exhibit here to promote all the Panasonic solutions, especially targeting the designer and consultant audiences, because we want to focus on the b2b market right now. The visitors at our booth are looking for smart technology, and want to know what Panasonic offers on the market. They tend to think that Panasonic is more upper-end, but we in fact have lighting solutions, home automation, security system and more solutions which we want to promote in the b2b market. At this fair, a lot of the visitors especially for consultants, designers, and building owners have visited our booth. We have welcomed over 100 visitors on the first day alone. If the feedback for this year is good, of course we will be coming back next year also.
Well-known companies such as NEX and Panasonic have introduced interesting IoT lighting and integrated smart home solutions to the fairs, and leading technologies from around the world have been brought by the global exhibitors. The fairs also provided an excellent opportunity for us have a comprehensive view on lighting, building, security, and other related sectors, creating rooms for cross-industry cooperation.
As a lighting manufacturer for energy-saving products based in China, we have previously established connections with buyers from Thailand through other trade fairs, and our visit has allowed us to meet them face-to-face while encountering new potential business opportunities on-site. I think the Thailand market has a low demand for lighting products, but it still has a lot of potential for targeting hotels and interior design companies.
